The SDKA is a community focused group with instructors training in the South Derbyshire area for the past 19 years. We provide quality karate training in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment.

S.D.K.A provides tuition for all levels and abilities ranging from complete beginners to National Competition finalists.
Fees and membership costs are kept low as SDKA believe that quality karate tuition should be accessible to all.
Classes cost £4 per hour (payable on an ‘as you train’ basis) and Membership is £5
Our fully qualified instructors have all been trained within the academy.
There are currently 21 Black Belts training within S.D.K.A, all of whom are fully committed to the club, assisting with instruction in all our classes.
Senior Instructors hold Coaching and First Aid qualifications.

Children:
Students can be enrolled from the age of 5 years and onwards.
Parents are very welcome to spectate at all S.D.K.A classes.
We provide the opportunity for parents to train as students alongside their children promoting a family atmosphere.
Direct feedback from parents confirms that S.D.K.A. Karate training improves concentration, co-ordination, self-confidence and inter-personal skills
SDKA ensures classes are FUN as well as being rewarding through hard work.
Adults:
If you are looking for a way to reduce stress or get fit without the usual tedious attendance at the Gym then SDKA could be for you. While keeping fit you are able to learn a martial art and effective self defence techniques. Karate provides a lifelong learning experience with continual challenges to stimulate the mind, body and imagination.
